Theories and questions about dyslexia
This is just a rough outline, for now.
- Autism is also related to perceptual distortion. (Ron pointed
this out.) How closely are autism and dyslexia related?
- Are there any identifiable pathways in the brain that correspond
to senses or parts of senses (eg. position in visual field) affected
by dyslexia?
- Are any other brain mechanisms affected? I'm particularly
interested in memory (from what I've seen of dyslexic kids) and
emotion.
- Autism is related to Pervasive Developental Disorder (PDD), at least according to the DSM-IV. PDD
seems to be mainly emotional. Is autism a combination of two separate
conditions, dyslexia and PDD? Or are dyslexia and PDD different
facets of the same thing, and autism is simply an extreme version?
- What's the connection between dyslexia and dissociation? A
friend of mine who's a multiple personality is able to control which
personality she switches to by using the Davis dyslexia technique.
